Is this where Spurs need to strengthen to challenge on all fronts next season?

Back-up striker

Everyone in world football knows just how good Spurs’ main man is. Harry Kane had an unbelievable season, but he is the only recognised striker amongst Spurs ranks at this moment in time. Players like Clinton N’Jie, Son Heung-Min and Nacer Chadli have played up top when required but with the sheer volume of potential fixtures for Spurs next season, Harry Kane will need an out and out striker to alleviate some pressure.

21 year old Dutch striker Vincent Janssen has been linked to the Lane, and the man from AZ Alkmaar could prove to be a worthwhile long term investment for Spurs. While he does not bring experience to the table, he does bring raw talent and growth potential that could be vital if Tottenham want to remain a title contender over a longer period of time (very likely considering the stadium development).

After being let go by Feyenoord as a youth player, Janssen spent two seasons at Almere City in the Dutch second division, scoring 29 times in 69 appearances. This form prompted a move to his current club Alkmaar, and the 2015/16 season proved to be the making of Janssen as he hit the 30 goal mark. He would be the ideal understudy to Harry Kane.
