'Is this for real?', 'this is massive': Some Arsenal fans erupt over Friday news
A number of Arsenal fans have reacted to the news that Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has won September’s Premier League Manager of the Month award.
The north Londoners followed up a dismal August with a superb September, winning all three of their league matches last month.
Arsenal picked up their first win of the season with a much-needed 1-0 home success against Norwich.
The Gunners followed that up with a victory at Burnley by the same scoreline.
And then came the big derby win, racing into a three-goal lead against Spurs en route to a 3-1 victory.
Arteta beat Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, Brighton’s Graham Potter and Aston Villa’s Dean Smith to the award.
“It’s a great feeling, it means we went on a good run and won matches,” Arteta told the Premier League media team.
“But for me it’s much more than that. It’s about the people involved, the people who work with me and how grateful I am to have them.
“The level of trust, implication and passion that they show working alongside me every day, that gives me the strength and then the belief in the players that they can do it, and that they are good enough to win matches and that we believe in them.”
And Arsenal fans were delighted with the news:

This is but a snapshot in time and recognition of potential award… This must act as an incentive for the club, manager and players to move further up the table and fulfil their hugest potential… Fans and supporters deserve nothing less… We can make it happen… Congratulations.— Realbishop (@Realbishop6) October 8, 2021
