Everton winger Theo Walcott has come under fire from supporters in recent weeks.
The January signing from Arsenal started brightly for his new club last season, and continued that form into the early weeks of 2018/19.
But recently Walcott has struggled to deliver for Marco Silva’s side, and he is without a goal since August and without an assist for a month.
At Arsenal, Walcott garnered a bit of reputation for being a frustrating player in the final third.
He appears to be slipping back into old habits, with some Toffees fans irked by some of his recent displays.
Walcott is very much reminiscent of another Everton player, who is unlikely to play for the club again after his recent comments.
Walcott the new Mirallas?
Believe it or not, Kevin Mirallas is actually still an Everton player.
The Belgian winger is currently out on loan with Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
He is something of a forgotten man at Goodison Park, having spent the second half of last season on loan to former club Olympiakos.
The criticisms of Walcott are scarily similar to what Mirallas has received in recent years.
Like the Englishman, Mirallas used to frustrate immensely with his lack of end product and tendency to shirk defensive responsibilities.
The general consensus with the Belgian has been that, while he has so much ability, he has been far too inconsistent with it.
Walcott, if he’s not careful, could be about to become the latest version of Mirallas, frustrating supporters on a weekly basis.
