Newcastle United splashed out £12million (Sky Sports) to sign Jacob Murphy from Norwich City in 2017 and he’s had a torrid time at St James’ Park.
The 23-year-old winger struggled to make a serious first-team impression last season and this campaign has been on the fringes.
He’s started just one game across all competitions this term and not had any action in the last four consecutive Premier League fixtures.
The English wide man is clearly not doing enough in training to impress the Magpies and has done very little on the pitch when featuring too.
But is manager Rafael Benitez failing him?

Murphy may still bet quite raw, but he’s got bags of pace and ability that clearly made Newcastle cough up £12million for him last year.
The attacker proved during his time in the Championship that he can be a real threat in wide areas and is at his best when he’s running at full-backs.
His confidence must be at an all-time low right now and Spanish boss Benitez could do with giving him a glimmer of hope.
It could only take one bright cameo to bring the best out of Murphy and using him as a substitute for Kenedy or Matt Ritchie could prove useful.
Murphy has an injection of speed and immense potential that it would be a shame to completely write off his investment.
