Having not started a fixture for West Ham in almost a month, Michail Antonio may well have felt a private sense of opportunity when he saw Andriy Yarmolenko go down with a serious looking injury against Tottenham.
The West Ham winger has struggled for consistency and appears to have failed to convince Manuel Pellegrini early on in the campaign, losing his place as the team’s form picked up.
That is why it was quite so damaging for his future hopes when the Chilean coach turned to 20-year-old Grady Diangana to replace the Ukranian whilst leaving Antonio on the bench.

Antonio did come on later in the game, but for only 18 minutes as opposed to 60, and appears to be falling further and further down the pecking order.
If Diangana usurps him in the running for a starting spot, it is hard to see what kind of future Antonio will have at the London Stadium.
In the summer, Crystal Palace were linked with a £15 million bid. It is hard to imagine that such an offer would be turned down if it were to come in January.
