Liverpool took on Fulham in the Premier League yesterday. Goals from Mo Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri did the damage as Liverpool claimed a fairly routine 2-0 win.
But whilst it was celebrations at Anfield, one of the club’s young players was making a name for himself in the FA Cup.
Seeing the name H. Kane scoring goals in English football is certainly not a rare occasion. But on this occasion, it was not Tottenham’s Harry, but Liverpool’s Herbie doing the damage.
Herbie Kane was featuring for Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup against non-league Chorley yesterday. The 19-year-old is spending the first half of the season on loan at the Keepmoat Stadium, trying to develop his game and push on at Melwood.

This game might be his best yet. Kane scored two equalisers in the game. He netted in the 11th minute to make it 1-1. He then struck a wonderful, dipping, right foot drive to make it 2-2 after Courtney Meppen-Walters had given the underdogs the lead.
Kane looked inspired throughout and, dare say it, there was certainly a touch of Steven Gerrard about his performance. That looks hyperbolic. In fact, his playing style perhaps has more similarities with James Milner. His form this term has been good, with Kane bagging four assists but this was the first time he hit the back of the net.
Kane’s second strike was causing quite a stir on Twitter and Liverpool clearly have a top talent on their hands.
