A number of Arsenal fans have been commenting on a cryptic club tweet about Emirates Stadium favourite Santi Cazorla.
The Spanish midfielder joined the Gunners in 2012 and soon earned cult hero status at the club for his hard-working, dazzling displays for Arsene Wenger’s side.
Unfortunately, a serious Achilles injury saw Cazorla lose out on close to 700 days of his career, and there were even fears he’d lose the ability to walk.

His time at Arsenal came to an end in the summer of 2018, when he left for Villarreal on a free transfer after 180 appearances, 29 goals and 45 assists for the Gunners.
The 35-year-old, whose Villarreal contract runs out this summer, has already admitted he would love to return to the Emirates, especially as the injury robbed him of a “proper goodbye” in 2018.
Earlier this year, Cazorla said he still dreamt of playing “one more game” for the Gunners, as reported by The Mirror.
On Thursday, Arsenal tweeted a picture of the Spain international in full kit at the Emirates, with a caption saying: “Santi. That’s it. That’s the tweet.”
Cue plenty of fans taking to social media to give their thoughts and hopes of a return:
