Everton were fortunate to get past Lincoln City in the FA Cup yesterday. Despite scoring two quickfire goals, the Imps fought back and at one point looked like at least taking the game to a replay.
Everton, in the end, scraped a 2-1 win and there were several performances of note.
One of them was from Leighton Baines, who has clearly not lost his talents when used sparingly. However, Ademola Lookman was the star of the show for Everton.
He scored a brilliant looping header to get the ball rolling for Everton. He was also a constant thorn in the side of Lincoln. Trying on either his left-foot or right-foot he was a constant danger and Everton fans who have been calling for him to play more regularly were left justified.

Of course, it was from January last year that Lookman showed some of his best form. The problem was that it was not at Everton.
Instead, he was on loan at RB Leipzig. Lookman scored five goals and assisted four in his 11 games for Leipzig in the second half of last season. His only appearance for Everton in the same time frame was against Liverpool in the FA Cup. He came off the bench and handed former Charlton team-mate, Joe Gomez, a torrid time.
So perhaps this is the time in a season when Lookman simply finds his best form. Hopefully, for his fervent Everton support, he gets a chance to prove that at Goodison Park.
