Sunderland are currently fairly spoiled for choice at full-back. At right-back, they have two internationals in the form of Adam Matthews and Tom Flanagan. At left-back, they have another in Bryan Oviedo and a young talent in Denver Hume.
Which begs the question, what to do about Donald Love?
The 23-year-old former Scotland under-21 international is currently out with an injury but is approaching a return to first-team action.
Signed by David Moyes in 2016 the former Manchester United man was one of many ex-Moyes players brought into the Stadium of Light.

As reported by the BBC, he arrived in a combined fee of £5.5 million along with fellow United youngster Paddy McNair. The share of the deal that incorporated Love was never quantified.
His performances since arriving at Sunderland, however, have not exactly lived up to expectation.
He has struggled to find any form on Wearside and Sunderland fans have not been impressed. So perhaps his time is up at the club. With Sunderland looking well stocked at full-back without him, first-team football could be hard to come by upon his return to fitness.
He would simply join a long list of Moyes recruits who failed to have any lasting impact at the Stadium of Light and, for his career, finding a new place to play might, in fact, be the best option.
