Leeds United are known for bringing through bright, young, homegrown talents. Based on recent performances in the youth system, one of the next players who could make the step up may be Clarke Oduor.
The 18-year-old midfielder signed a professional deal in January 2017 but produced one of his finest displays to date on Friday, coming on as a substitute in the Yorkshire derby to provide two fine crossed assists for Ryan Edmondson.
Left-footed by nature, Oduor has risen through the ranks and was the first man that Carlos Coberan looked to as Barnsley piled on the pressure in the opening stages.

That he came on after just 17 minutes was a clear display of faith, and he repaid it by providing two crucial assists to the prolific Edmondson to turn the tie around.
Given Coberan’s role within the first-team set-up and Marcelo Bielsa’s willingness to blood young talents, Oduor’s first team chance may not be as far away as it could initially seem.
Following in the footsteps of the likes of Lewis Cook and Kalvin Phillips, Oduor is on the right path to succeed at Elland Road.
