Is Adrien Rabiot to Tottenham back on?

According to France Football, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is to chase a deal for Adrien Rabiot, after learning of Barcelona’s move for Frenkie de Jong.

The Dutchman officially signed for the Catalan giants in a £65 million deal on Wednesday, and will join up with his teammates on July 1.

It’s a bitter blow for Paris Saint-Germain, who were said to be one of the clubs interested in the starlet.

But no sooner had that deal been announced, the French champions were then reported to be in pole position to sign Leandro Paredes.

The Zenit St. Petersburg midfielder could now join the club in a £35 million move (The Telegraph).

These developments could be great news for Spurs, who may now feel encouraged over Rabiot.

Move resurrected?

Pochettino is right to try and resurrect a move for Rabiot.

The Frenchman is a top quality midfielder who plays with elegance.

He is blessed with excellent technical qualities and could well replace Mousa Dembele, who departed for China.

Spurs will be hoping PSG can secure the proposed deal for Paredes, and that Chelsea don’t try and trump their bid.

It’s definitely an interesting turn of events, given that Rabiot had allegedly said that Spurs were ‘above his level’ not so long ago.
