Tottenham Hotspur youngster Anthony Georgiou has already impressed Ipswich Town fans after making his loan debut. Georgiou came on at half-time in Ipswich’s 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon in League One on Tuesday night.
Georgiou replaced Idris El Mizouni at half-time last night as Ipswich came from behind to beat Wimbledon. The Wombles had a 1-0 lead at the break but Ipswich overturned this with late goals from James Norwood and Kayden Jackson.
Ipswich now sit fifth in the League One table after four games. And there are high hopes that Georgiou will continue their promotion push. The 22-year-old certainly earned rave reviews after a lively debut for the Tractor Boys at Portman Road on Tuesday night.
The Cyprus international, who has played one senior game for Spurs, signed a new two-year contract before heading out on loan. He will stay with Ipswich until January with fans already excited about his progression.
After a loan spell with Levante’s second-string side last season, Georgiou will hope to kick on at Ipswich. Here are some tweets from Ipswich fans who are already thoroughly impressed with Georgiou.
