International likes Fabrizio Romano's 'Here we go' Instagram post saying he's set to join Spurs this week

Pierluigi Gollini looks to have fuelled speculation that he is on his way to Spurs this summer, with the goalkeeper liking an Instagram post from Fabrizio Romano claiming that he will join Tottenham in the next few days.

As things stand, Gollini looks destined to potentially be Spurs’ first signing of the window.

It was reported this week that the 26-year-old is set to join on loan from Atalanta. According to the Guardian, Tottenham will have the option to make the move permanent next summer for £13 million.

Personal terms have also been agreed, according to Romano’s post on Instagram.

But what is particularly interesting about Romano’s post is who is amongst those to have liked it.

Well over 200,000 have done so. But the key name amongst those is Gollini himself…

Gollini an intriguing signing for Spurs as goalkeeper likes Romano post on Instagram

The goalkeeper situation was one that Fabio Paratici would have always needed to address in his first 12 months at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Hugo Lloris’s deal expires next summer, and Joe Hart turned 34 earlier this year.

So it is no surprise that Paratici is seemingly on the verge of a new signing.

What is perhaps more intriguing is the fact that Gollini is set to arrive on loan. It could be a masterstroke.

But obviously, if Lloris begins the campaign as first-choice, he may have to bide his time before he gets the chance to prove himself.

Those chances will likely come. Spurs will battle on several fronts this season.

And of course, Nuno Espirito Santo could always decide that Gollini has shown enough following his arrival to start the campaign ahead of Lloris.
