Tottenham Hotspur may well be in the market for a new striker this summer.

The north London club still haven’t actually signed a Harry Kane replacement, and as we head into the summer, there’s plenty of talk around who Spurs could target.

Speaking on The Debrief, Ben Jacobs has shared some insight into Tottenham’s summer transfer plans, and he’s named Jonathan David as a player Spurs are still looking at potentially signing.

Tottenham are looking at Jonathan David

Jonathan David has been linked with a move away from Lille for years now, but, as of yet, nothing has come to fruition.

The striker looks to be a top talent who is ready for the next step in his career, and Tottenham look like they may well make a move.

Jacobs spoke about Spurs’ interest in David.

“Is Son going to stay on and lead the line? Or do they still need a leading striker? That will be interesting. Tottenham have looked at a variety of players from Joshua Zirkzee to someone like Jonathan David who still hasn’t gone anywhere,” Jacobs said.

Jonathan David could be perfect

Jonathan David could be absolutely perfect for this Tottenham team and Ange Postecoglou.

If you watched the Australian’s team this season you will know how important it is for his strikers to press hard and use their pace to run in behind – a la Heung-Min Son this term.

So, how about signing one of the fastest strikers around?

David’s pace is his most important attribute, he’s one of the quickest players in Ligue 1, and according to The Speeds Database, he’s faster than the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison.

David could be just what the doctor ordered at Spurs, and while his pace is so important, he’s also a fantastic finisher.

Tottenham’s attack could go to the next level if they sign David.
