Inter Milan fans react as Arsenal reportedly eye their defender

Arsenal are reportedly battling Chelsea in the race to sign Inter Milan defender Achraf Hakimi this summer as the Gunners prepare for a possible shake-up on the right side of the defence – and Inter fans have reacted on Twitter.

Hakimi, 22, has been in stunning form for Inter since swapping Real Madrid for Antonio Conte’s Italian outfit last summer. Having starred for Borussia Dortmund while on loan from Madrid, Inter chose to sign him last summer.

He has since had a hand in 12 goals during his 33 games in all competitions. Hakimi has scored six goals and laid on six more in assists during that time, the Morocco international has shone for Inter in his 33 appearances.

That has caught attention from England. The Telegraph have suggested that Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in raiding Inter Milan to sign Hakimi – with a fee of £40million believed to be enough to land the flying right-back.

The Gunners could be about to lose Hector Bellerin this summer, who is being strongly linked with Barcelona. Cedric Soares has been good for the Gunners, but he is hardly seen as the long-term answer for Arsenal.

Responding to the reports that Arsenal – and indeed, Chelsea – could look to sign Hakimi this summer, Inter fans are in disagreement. Some are happy to see him go, while others have laughed off Arsenal’s interest.
