Inter Milan change Denzel Dumfries transfer stance with Tottenham and Chelsea keen
Tuttosport reports that Inter Milan have now changed their stance on Denzel Dumfries and could sell him this month, with Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea both keen to sign him.
Antonio Conte and Graham Potter will be eager to address their issues at right wing-back this month, for different reasons.
Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty have been underwhelming for Tottenham this season, while summer signing Djed Spence is yet to get his opportunity under Conte.
Reece James has been exceptional for the Blues but his progress has been hampered by injuries this season.
The London rivals have been linked to similar targets throughout the opening 12 days of the transfer window, including Dumfries.
Journalist Marco Barzaghi claimed last week that Chelsea and Tottenham could end up in a bidding war over the Dutchman.
Now, it seems Inter could be ready to sell Dumfries before the summer due to his poor form since returning from the World Cup.
Inter Milan could sell Dumfries
Tuttosport reports that Dumfries is receiving interest from both London clubs, as well as Manchester United.
Inter were planning to sell the Dutchman this summer but due to his poor displays since returning from Qatar, they are worried his price-tag may drop.
The Nerazzurri had not considered the possibility of selling Dumfries this month, but they may have changed their mind after his below-par start to 2023.
Both Potter and Conte will be eager to address their issues at right wing-back and Dumfries would be an excellent option for the pair.
His performances for Inter have been described as ‘amazing’ and despite a drop-off in form of late, he’s still a brilliant wing-back.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for Pedro Porro but Dumfries would be a great option for Conte should they fail to sign the Spaniard.
As for Chelsea, they need a different option to James due to concerns over his injury record and Dumfries would certainly offer more in the role than Cesar Azpilicueta.
