After a quite brilliant week for Aston Villa, Jermaine Jenas was so impressed with one player in an outstanding win over Arsenal.
Jenas was speaking on the BBC’s Match of the Day and thought Villa were brilliant as a whole yesterday.

However, when speaking about those that had improved under Unai Emery, Jenas thought John McGinn was a shining light for the whole project.
Of course, the captain did score the early winner against Arsenal, and Jenas was loving the work of the Villa midfielder in a slightly different role.
Jenas said: “He’s been brilliant, I think, you know, Unai Emery has really improved all of the squad in general.
“But I think John McGinn is one of those players who is really flourishing in almost like a different type of role.”
Jenas continued: “I just like him in this position because it’s something to do with how powerful he is, when you get close to him, you can’t stop him.
“He turns well, runs well, people just bounce off him.”
He finished: “It was an inspired performance from the captain today, he was a big part of the reason they got the win.”
Jermaine Jenas thought Villa’s John McGinn was outstanding against Arsenal
This is definitely a week that will live long in the memory for Aston Villa fans, not only because of the scalps achieved, but they are now locked into a title-race.
Unai Emery certainly wasn’t shy of admitting that fact after the game, which may now add a bit of pressure.

But with a captain like £120k-a-week John McGinn at the helm, Jermaine Jenas will surely be confident that Villa can cope just fine.
And although it was the Scot getting the praise this week, it was a outstanding defender on the receiving end last time out.
Villa do now have so many of their top players in form – credit to how Emery is managing his squad.
And with Premier League games against Brentford, Sheffield United, Manchester United and Burnley to come over the festive period, some fans may feel they have a good chance in all four.
Say it quietly, but there is a outside chance that Emery’s Villa may even find themselves on top of the league come Christmas day if results go their way.
