Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko posted an update on Instagram that he will be back “soon” from injury.

The 30-year-old has been sidelined since early January with a knee problem, after making a strong start to life under manager Jose Mourinho.

Spurs confirmed (official website) in January that the France international had undergone surgery on a knee injury and that he was set to return to training in early April.

Sissoko may have potentially given the club a boost by uploading a video of him doing some individual training exercises, but it’s unclear on when he will be available again.

It certainly will leave Spurs supporters excited though, as he’s become a real fan favourite in recent times and can be a real powerhouse in the centre of the park.

“No pain, no gain. I will be back soon,” Sissoko wrote on his official Instagram account.

TBR’s View:

Sissoko may be a little unorthodox at times as a player and not the most pleasing on the eye, but he was becoming an important figure under Mourinho and can have a role to play moving forward.

The central midfielder is a powerhouse that had a tough start to life at Spurs when he first joined in 2016, but he managed to turn it all around and win over supporters.

Both his and Harry Kane’s injury absence has left a big gap in the starting XI, but they will both give such a boost when they eventually do return.
