‘Indispensable’: Tottenham fans praise goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga
Tottenham recorded a memorable 2-0 away victory over Arsenal on Wednesday – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter were blown away by their goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga for his overall performance.
Spurs set up a semi-final showdown with Chelsea in the Carabao Cup after edging past north London rivals Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
Heung-Min Son and Dele Alli were on the scoresheet for the visitors, as they got one over on their main rivals in their own backyard.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side showed some real composure in the final third to progress in the cup, with both goals top-class finishes.
But a selection of Spurs fans on social media singled out Gazzniga for his overall efforts against Arsenal.

Gazzaniga was involved in both goals with his long accurate kicks starting out the moves, with distribution a major part of his game.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper also pulled out a couple of top drawer saves and that glossed over a frantic couple of minutes in the first-half.
He is an Argentinian shot-stopper that is unbeaten in his seven first-team Spurs appearances and looks a more than capable understudy for captain Hugo Lloris.
Here are some of the Spurs fan tweets praising Gazzaniga:
You are going to be a TOP keeper for years to come, unbelievable today and loving the haircut!! ?

Top notch game tonight. Gazzaniga on fire with his long balls. Kane’s instant impact on the game after subbing on. Alli and Son’s quality finishing and Alli’s class response to being hit in the head by a bottle from the Gunners’ crowd. #COYS #THFC

I know I am late for the party. Well done spurs and Poch. Got the right dynamics and balance. I thought Gazzaniga was fantastic and should be competing with Lloris all day long. Lloris would have conceded most of the goals today. Gazzaniga is indispensable. #COYS

Gazzaniga needs to be our number 1 sooner rather than later. Unsung hero today. COYS !

Don’t think Gazzaniga has had a bad game in the shirt yet. Looks extremely comfortable and assured with most things asked of him.
