Giovani Lo Celso could miss out on Tottenham Hotspur’s clash against Everton on Saturday due to a muscle injury.

Ange Postecoglou is expected to be short of options in the middle of the park on Saturday after Yves Bissouma’s red card at the City Ground on Friday.

The Mali international was shown a straight red in the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest following a late challenge on Ryan Yates.

Of course, Spurs are also without James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur until the new year.

Giovani Lo Celso has enjoyed a decent run of form in the Tottenham side of late but missed out on the trip to the City Ground after picking up a knock in training.

Now, The Evening Standard reports that the Argentine midfielder remains a doubt for Saturday’s game.

Lo Celso could miss Everton game

The report claims that Lo Celso is currently a doubt for the game against Everton after picking up a muscle strain.

It could lead to Postecoglou naming a makeshift midfield, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp set to be involved.

Lo Celso has been lauded as an ‘incredible’ player and he’s shown signs he could be an important part of Postecoglou’s squad.

The 27-year-old netted twice in three starts before dropping back to the bench for the win over Newcastle earlier this month.

But it’s no secret that the midfielder has struggled with injuries during his time at Spurs.

Indeed, he was ruled out at the start of the season after picking up a hamstring injury in his first start at Fulham in August.

Tottenham are short of creative options in midfield at the moment, with Bissouma also now suspended for four games.

Postecoglou will be hopeful that Lo Celso’s injury is nothing too serious and it would be a huge boost to have him available for Saturday’s game.
