Leeds United and West Ham are both aiming to avoid relegation this season.
The Whites returned to the Premier League in style, beating Everton at Elland Road in their opening game of the new season. That joy was short-lived as Arsenal smashed them 5-0 in the very next fixture.
West Ham, on the other hand, have had an awful start to the new campaign, losing each of their first two games. They have looked really poor so far.
Both clubs could do with new signings before Monday’s deadline, and there is now an update on one striker who is available on the market.
Timo Werner snubs Leeds and could now be offered to West Ham
Timo Werner is a popular name in the Premier League.
The German spent two years at Chelsea and was also at Tottenham for 18 months on loan from RB Leipzig.
Werner, hailed as ‘incredible’ by Mats Hummels, has returned to Leipzig now, but it is clear that he has no future there.
The Bundesliga club want to move him on this summer, and reports have claimed that Leeds United are interested in his services.
However, GiveMeSport have claimed that Werner has indicated that he does not want to move to Elland Road because his preference is to return to London.
For that reason, the German’s representatives are ‘tempted’ to offer him to West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Fulham ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
All three London clubs are in the market for attacking reinforcements, but it remains to be seen if any of them show an interest in signing Werner before the window shuts.
Werner has entered the final year of his contract at RB Leipzig, so he should be available for an affordable fee.

Should West Ham United sign Timo Werner?
West Ham are in a lot of trouble at the moment.
The Irons need things to change as soon as possible to avoid getting into a relegation battle, and Graham Potter’s job is at risk.
The Hammers boss needs someone who can come in and guarantee success on the pitch, and Werner is just not that player.
The German was really poor throughout his time at Tottenham. Ange Postecoglou even publicly criticised Werner for his performances.
West Ham need players in, but we think they should be aiming for someone much better than the RB Leipzig forward.
