Son Heung-Min has paid tribute to Tottenham Hotspur teammate Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after last night’s 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Spurs went top of their Champions League group after coming from behind to win and seeing out a tense closing period.

Hojbjerg set up Son for during a first half when he netted twice to get Spurs in command of the game and therefore the group.

Speaking to Spurs’ official website after the game, Son said that Hojbjerg is having a great season and praised his assist.

Son on Hojbjerg

Son said: “I think I hit it really well with the left foot. To be honest I couldn’t see the ball when I hit it because it went so fast! But we should be talking about the Pierre cross. I think he was short of time and looked up and saw me, and he put in an unbelievable ball.

“When the ball was flying into me I was thinking there is only one option, hit the ball with the left-foot, and luckily I hit it really well. Pierre has been very important for the team. He’s doing everything in the middle of the pitch.

“He wins the ball and gives the ball to the attacking players. He’s going forward and scoring goals. He’s doing everything. I have an unbelievable relationship with Pierre. He’s such a good guy, an amazing guy. To have him around is just incredible.

“I’m very happy that he’s having that improvement, I think that’s important for him and to watch him is a joy.
Sometimes we make fun and argue with each other like ‘give me the ball’ but it’s because we understand him well, so I think this joke is always so funny.”

The £15 million midfielder is playing well and has reacted to the arrival of Yves Bissouma by making himself undroppable for Conte.

Son is now finding some form after a sticky start to the season and Spurs look in a good position in terms of European progression now.

They have not lost a home game this season and if they win their next European one, against Sporting, they should qualify for the knockout rounds.
