A number of Leeds United fans have praised Ezgjan Alioski’s display as Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites were held to a disappointing Championship draw at Elland Road on Tuesday night.

Leeds missed out on the chance to go six points clear of West Bromwich Albion against relegation-battling Luton Town, who took the lead against the Whites.

The Hatters went ahead in the 50th minute through Harry Cornick, who got the better of Ben White on the break to fire into the top corner of Illan Meslier’s net.

Alioski, who came on for Gaetano Berardi – who himself was a sub, coming on for the injured Liam Cooper – provided the assist for Leeds to get back into the game just after the hour.

The 28-year-old played a low ball into the penalty area, just beyond the Luton centre-back, and Stuart Dallas made no mistake to calmly slot the ball into the back of the net.

For all of Leeds’ efforts – 76 percent possession, 23 shots, nine corners and 15 corners – they couldn’t find a winner.

As with Saturday’s victory over Fulham, Alioski made a big difference to how Leeds performed, and plenty of Whites fans called for him to start against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.
