‘Incredible’ £30m Brazilian could be Tottenham’s big summer signing; he’s scored 19 goals already

Tottenham Hotspur fans will be expecting the club to spend in the summer and build on a good first year under Ange Postecoglou.

Spurs and Postecoglou have meshed nicely and with some fine attacking football on display, Tottenham fans have been going home happy most weeks, even if the result’s gone against them.

However, after adding a few players in January, the expectation at the club now is that they will kick on under ‘Big Ange’ and finally make a push for a title or at least a trophy.

To do that, they’ll need to get the signings spot on and there’s no doubt they need a forward, despite Richarlison coming into form of late.

Harry Kane’s departure left a big void but there’s a player currently strutting his stuff in the Premier League who could be just the ticket.

That man? Brighton and Hove Albion forward, Joao Pedro.

Tottenham should go all out for Joao Pedro

It would feel like a familiar path for Tottenham this. Watford were the ones who got Richarlison here in the first place, just like they did with Pedro, before selling him onto Everton, as Watford did with Pedro and Brighton.

This season, the 22-year-old Brighton man has exploded into life. He has banged in 19 goals already – granted, he has hit plenty of penalties – but he’s still tucked them away with aplomb.

The South American is getting better and better under Roberto de Zerbi and the next step for him now is to move to a club who have serious aspirations of the top four and beyond. Tottenham, then, might be the club for him.

As we know, Brighton will demand big money for a player they themselves paid £30m for. But Joao Pedro looks like he’d be worth it, having already proved himself on the big stage.

Indeed, De Zerbi himself is a fan, lauding Pedro as a ‘top player’ and someone who has ‘incredible ability’.

Tottenham need to make sure they have enough goals in the team from next season. Joao Pedro, then, could be the perfect fit and take his own career – and Spurs – to the next level.
