Sky Sports reporter James Green has shared an exciting update on Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Swedish starlet Lucas Bergvall today.
Green was speaking at Tottenham’s training ground ahead of Ange Postecoglou’s press conference on Tuesday afternoon.
Michael Bridge broke the news today that Spurs are eyeing a possible move for Djurgarden’s Lucas Bergvall. Tottenham are looking to beat off competition from the likes of Barcelona to secure the signing of the 17-year-old.

It comes after Spurs have seemingly missed out on Antonio Nusa, with the Club Brugge starlet’s proposed move to Brentford hanging in the balance after an issue with his medical.
Now, Tottenham could switch their attention to landing Bergvall and James Green claims technical director Johan Lange has been ‘crucial’ in pushing for this signing.
Tottenham keen on Bergvall
Speaking on Sky Sports News at Tottenham’s training ground today, Green shared an update on Spurs’ interest in signing Bergvall.
“In the last hour, some of my colleagues at Sky have said that Tottenham are interested in Swedish sensation Lucas Bergvall of Djurgarden,” the reporter said. “He’s just 17-years-old, he made 25 appearances for the club last season.
“We understand that new Tottenham technical director Johan Lange has been crucial in pushing for this signature. So that might be one that excites Tottenham fans, not right now, but in the future that they’re looking at bringing in young talent and developing them here at Tottenham to push into the first-team.
“So, that’s something that any football fans will listen to – when their clubs are linked with young stars, this is positive because they’re looking further ahead.”

Bergvall racked up 25 appearances for Swedish outfit Djurgarden last term, managing three goal involvements in the process.
The youngster mainly operates in midfield but has also played up front on one occasion in his short career.
While Bergvall isn’t exactly an alternative to Nusa, Spurs have displayed their eagerness to prepare for the future in recent transfer windows.
The north Londoners snapped up a talented Croatian youngster, Luka Vuskovic, from Hajduk Split over the summer.
Bergvall wouldn’t be expected to come in and challenge for a starting place but he looks set for a bright future ahead.
Spurs have benefitted from snapping up young talents ahead of other top clubs in recent years, with Destiny Udogie and Pape Matar Sarr making an impact under Postecoglou this term.
