Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman were both doubts ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash.
But both players look set to start after recovering from their respective injury concerns.
And with in-form Coman set to line up on the left-wing against youngster Alexander-Arnold, this could be a decisive battle at Anfield.
The concern is that Alexander-Arnold is out of practice, having only just made his return to first-team action.
The 20-year-old played the final 13 minutes in Liverpool’s 3-0 win over Bournemouth last weekend but that was his first game back after a month out.
At the same time, Coman has hit a red hot streak of form with three goals in his last three matches.
In Bayern Munich’s last match – against FC Augsburg – the France international inspired a comeback victory, scoring twice and providing an assist in a 3-2 win.
The 22-year-old is one of Bayern Munich’s danger men going into this fixture and they will be targeting Alexander-Arnold.
The England international is enjoying a successful season but Bayern Munich will be hoping he is not as sharp as usual after shaking off his injury.
Liverpool cannot afford to let Coman get the better of Alexander-Arnold in tonight’s Champions League fixture because this duel could decide which team progresses.
