Newcastle United have reportedly tried to sign Manchester City talent Liam Delap this summer.
However, the Magpies have been unsuccessful, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Citizens reportedly rejected Newcastle’s approaches – suggesting they’ve tried more than once.

Also, it looks as though Delap is now heading elsewhere.
Romano has taken to Twitter to claim that Delap is closing in on a loan switch to Stoke City.
They are in advanced talks and “favourites to find full agreement” with the 19-year-old’s parent club.
City are only looking to let Delap go on loan rather than selling him, added Romano.
“Stoke, on it,” concluded the transfer insider, also crediting The Athletic’s Dan Sheldon for the initial story.
Newcastle have had a relatively quiet transfer window so far this summer.
The Magpies finally landed Sven Botman after months of pursuing the Netherlands defender.
Newcastle also brought in goalkeeper Nick Pope and made Matt Targett’s loan permanent.
However, Eddie Howe is yet to bolster his attacking ranks this summer.
Liam Delap boasts a sensational scoring record at youth level.
He has 35 goals and nine assists from just 36 City Under-23s outings, plus one senior goal.
Understandably, City don’t want to lose his signature, hence a potential deal with Stoke.
Bad news for Newcastle, but if the Citizens don’t want to sell, there’s not the Magpies can do.
