‘In a different league’: Arsenal fans react on Twitter to Gabriel Martinelli return

Arsenal were hammered by Manchester City this evening as their miserable 2020/21 campaign continued under Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners managed to get themselves level in the first half when Alexandre Lacazette nodded in Gabriel Martinelli’s fine cross. But after the break, Arsenal simply fell apart as City picked them off.

Rhiyad Mahrez, Phil Foden, and Aymeric Laporte all helped themselves to goals before the 75 minute mark to end the tie and knock the Gunners out of the League Cup.

However, despite the loss, some Arsenal fans did fine some solace in the return to fitness and form of Martinelli. And although the Brazilian youngster was removed with a suspected injury just after the break, his performance was a small positive.
