Leicester City’s new striker Ayoze Perez has wasted no time settling in at his new club. Perez scored the only goal as Leicester beat Scunthorpe United in a pre-season friendly.
The 25-year-old, who cost £30m from Newcastle United this summer (BBC Sport) scored in the 35th minute and that was enough to see the Foxes through for a 1-0 win.
Perez was in the right place to receive a low cross from Ricardo Pereira. And he made no mistake as he cooly slotted home from inside the box for Leicester.

Newcastle fans were gutted to see Perez leave earlier this summer. Alongside Rafa Benitez, the Spaniard appears to be leading a Newcastle exodus. But the Magpies’ loss is Leicester’s gain.
Even though it was only a friendly against League Two opposition, fans are already getting excited about next season with Perez. He can operate as a centre-forward, second striker, number 10 or as a winger, making him a useful versatile option for Brendan Rodgers.
Here are some tweets from fans reacting to Perez’s maiden goal for Leicester in pre-season.
