‘Imagine’, ‘get him signed’: Some Everton fans react to links with £17.5m Brazil international

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the Sport report linking the Toffees to Brazil right-back Emerson.

The 21-year-old is said to be on the radar of the Goodison Park outfit as well as Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United, all of whom have reportedly asked about him.

Emerson is currently playing for Real Betis but is effectively co-owned by both the Seville-based club and Barcelona.

The two La Liga clubs each paid half of the estimated €12million (around £10million) transfer fee and retained a percentage of Emerson’s economic rights.

As part of the deal, Barca can buy Emerson outright for €6million next season (around £5million).

However, they could also be tempted to cash in on the Selecao newcomer, with Sport suggesting an initial asking price of €20million (£17.5million).

Everton could be tempted to bolster the right side of their defence, with Seamus Coleman now in the twilight of his career and Djibril Sidibe only on loan at Goodison Park.

Jonjoe Kenny, meanwhile, is set to return from his loan spell at Schalke and it remains to be seen whether Ancelotti has him in his first team plans.
