Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has admitted to the BBC that he’s actually great friends with Arsenal star Bukayo Saka.

Saka has been in devastating form at the World Cup for England and has bagged three goals in as many games in Qatar.

The Gunners youngster has been flourishing under Mikel Arteta and is now making an impact on the biggest stage.

The 21-year-old scored a delightful chipped goal to round off an impressive 3-0 win over Senegal on Sunday. He linked up brilliantly with Phil Foden for the goal but it seems that he has become really close with his City teammate.

Grealish admits he’s great friends with Saka

Speaking to the BBC, Grealish was reacting to ‘World Cup viral moments’ and re-watched a video of Saka.

The City star was filming the Arsenal youngster carrying his breakfast to the table and he says the pair have become really close friends.

“I was just recording him coming over, he was making some weird noise. He just makes me laugh. He obviously had his breakfast, he had his strawberries there,” Grealish said.

“Obviously it looks like porridge but I didn’t know. If you actually hear me I’m like ‘strawberries with?’

“You know what people eat nowadays, they all eat weird things like oats and just weird stuff, don’t they?

“But It just sums our friendship up and I’m very close to him.”

Grealish is yet to start a game for England at the World Cup and has found himself behind the likes of Saka, Foden and Marcus Rashford in the pecking order.

He’s looked really bright when he’s come off the bench but Saka has been particularly ‘brilliant’ in Qatar.

Despite the fact they are both competing for a place in Southgate’s front-three, the pair have clearly built a close friendship at the England camp.
