Dharmesh Sheth has claimed that West Ham United manager David Moyes was the man who pulled the plug on a deal to sign Nikola Milenkovic, live on Sky Sports.
Not wanted
West Ham were heavily linked with the Fiorentina defender, and seemed well on course to land him in recent days.
However, the move has now fallen through right at the last minute.
Sheth says that is because Moyes was unconvinced that Milenkovic was the right fit for West Ham’s squad.
“West Ham were in for Nikola Milenkovic, that looked very close and we all thought that he would be coming to the London Stadium,” he said.
“But I’m told that David Moyes wasn’t 100% convinced that he was the right man for his squad.”
Shock decision?
If Moyes was behind West Ham’s decision not to go through with the signing that may come as some surprise.

The Hammers have been very slow in the transfer market this summer, with very few transfer moves made.
Moyes led West Ham to Europe last term, and surely would ideally like to add more depth to his squad.
But it is imperative that West Ham get their recruitment right and, perhaps, the Scot may feel that there are better options on the market.
The major concern with Milenkovic may well have been over his lack of Premier League experience.
The towering defender has never played in England before, but has shown real promise during his time in Italy.
