Jordan Henderson has raved about Jude Bellingham in the Daily Mail, amid claims that Liverpool have their eye on signing him.

Liverpool target

EuroSport reported that Liverpool are eager to sign the Borussia Dortmund central midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.

No move ever materialised, with Liverpool not having the funds to land the teenager.

But Henderson got a chance to play alongside Bellingham at the weekend anyway, as the pair started in England’s 4-0 win over Andorra.

Bellingham, in particular, impressed – and Henderson admits that he is a huge fan of the Dortmund star.

“Jude is a fantastic player,” Henderson said. “Even at such a young age, he shows fantastic maturity on and off the field. You can see how hungry he is to be a top player and has all the attributes to do that.

“I tried to help as much as I could but, to be honest, he is a top player who has shown that in the big games for Dortmund. I see him going from strength to strength all the time. I don’t want to praise him too much and put too much pressure on him but he’s got a very good head on his shoulders.

“I’m told he has good people around him and a good family, and you can see that is an important part of him. I think he will be a top player going forward. I watch him for Dortmund and the way he performs is outstanding.”

In demand

Liverpool are said to be planning to have a more major rebuild next summer and Bellingham will surely be in demand.

His talents are quickly catching the eye, and at his tender years he could have well over a decade right at the top of the game.

If he was brought to Liverpool he certainly would have the ability to step straight into their midfield.

Bellingham could offer Klopp’s side more energy and ability right in the middle of the pitch.

And if Liverpool are able to complete the transfer, Bellingham could be a stunning signing, although any deal would surely be hugely expensive at this stage, with EuroSport suggesting he is valued at £100 million.
