Tottenham Hotspur reporter Jack Pitt-Brooke says that he expects at least two new players to arrive at the club before deadline day, on the View from the Lane podcast.
Two incoming
Tottenham have signed Cristian Romero, Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini so far this summer to bolster their ranks.
Spurs are still being linked with a whole host of players though, across a range of positions.
Pitt-Brooke feels that there are two different areas where Tottenham really want to improve, though.
Spurs are still eyeing up a move for a defender and a forward player in the final days of the transfer window.
Tottenham do have money to spend, despite Harry Kane not leaving, the journalist claims.
But it may be a case of needing some outgoing deals to go through, before they can commit to signings of their own.
He said: “Tottenham have already been working on the assumption that Kane will stay. It’s not as if they have been waiting to sell Kane to spend.
“I do think they will get another attacking player and another defensive player.
“At some point they will get a defender in, but the issue with the defender, I’m told, is that they need to get rid of some defenders before they get one in.”
Defender and attacker
If Spurs are to sign a defender it could be either a right-back or a central defender, reports seem to suggest.
A right-back may be a more pressing concern for Tottenham though, as both Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier have started the campaign in impressive form.
In terms of an attacking sense, Tottenham appeared to be gunning for a new striker.
However, after deals for their top targets failed, Spurs are now seemingly looking at winger, with the possibility of moving Heung-Min Son up-front.
