'I'm told': £23m player thinks he's leaving Spurs now, his agent has moved all lined up - journalist
Alasdair Gold has said on his Youtube channel that Serge Aurier now believes that he will be making a move away from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
On the way out
Aurier and his agent apparently feel that they have a move lined up to take the right-back away from Spurs.
Tottenham have been looking to sell the Ivorian all summer, but have failed to manage it so far.
However, it seems that a bid could be incoming for Aurier – although Gold hopes that Tottenham aren’t left in a situation where they have to take a cut price deal.
“There seems to be a belief from Aurier and I’m told his agent as well that they have something ready for him,” he said.
“I just hope it’s not going to be a last minute, here’s my bid for Aurier, you’ve got to take it now otherwise you’ll have nothing.”
Not being used
If Aurier was to leave Tottenham it is unlikely that too many tears would be shed.
Nuno clearly hasn’t had any interest in playing the error prone defender, with Japhet Tanganga starting the first two games of the season at right-back and Matt Doherty being used in reserve.
Tanganga has actually impressed in the early part of the season, although in an ideal world, Spurs would like to bring in a right-back before the deadline passes.
If they were to sell Aurier that could be a boost for the club, as it would help to bring in more finances.
But Tottenham are likely to make a significant loss on their investment, after paying £23 million (BBC Sport) to sign Aurier from PSG four years ago.
