West Ham United may have to pay the ‘premium’ if they want to sign World Cup star Jakub Kiwior, according to journalist Dean Jones.
David Moyes’ men have got off to a poor start to the new season and sit just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Hammers were on a difficult run of form before the World Cup break too, having lost four out of their last five games.
But Moyes will be hoping the break can benefit his side as they look to make huge improvements during the second-half of the campaign.
And it seems the Hammers are looking to bolster Moyes’ squad during the January window after bringing in the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta over the summer.
West Ham have been linked with a move for Spezia Calcio centre-back Kiwior, with Milan Live reporting they have already tabled a bid.
Now, Jones has provided an update on their pursuit of the 22-year-old and claims the Italian outfit could now demand a higher fee after his World Cup displays.

West Ham will have to pay ‘premium’ for Kiwior
Jones has told GiveMeSport that West Ham may face the prospect of walking away from the deal as a bargaining tool.
“I’m sure Spezia will try to add some sort of premium on the back of the World Cup,” he said.
“The negotiation will be there to be had. West Ham will just need to try and temper the numbers there and maybe even act like they’re not interested and then go back for him, because I know he’s somebody they have been keen on.”
Kiwior impressed for Poland in Qatar and helped them reach the last-16 stage of the tournament.
Of course, Poland were outclassed by France as they lost 3-1 but Kiwior’s displays certainly haven’t gone unnoticed.

The defender has also been linked with a move to West Ham’s London rivals Tottenham, with AS claiming last week that Antonio Conte’s men are battling AS Roma for his signature.
West Ham have struggled with defensive injuries this season and will seemingly need to bolster Moyes’ options at centre-back.
Kiwior was excellent during the World Cup and has impressed in Italy with Spezia. But the Hammers may face a difficult task in negotiating with the Italian side after his performances in Qatar.
