Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has issued his demands to every Arsenal player, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has been pushed away from the side.
The Gabon star was Arsenal’s skipper and although his performances were poor, Arteta constantly backed him. However, a disciplinary breach the week after he was dropped to the bench against Everton forced the Gunners boss to take the strictest possible action.
Arteta stripped Aubameyang of his captaincy and the 32-year-old has not been a part of the squad since. It’s unclear when he’ll be back either and that has cast a massive shadow of doubt on his future.
Arteta was quizzed about Aubameyang again and the Arsenal boss made it clear that failure to adhere to his demands will not be tolerated.
Arteta: I expect respect and commitment from Aubameyang and every other Arsenal player
The Arsenal boss said, as per The Evening Standard: “I don’t establish my authority by being dictatorial or trying to be ruthless. I just ask for one thing, it’s respect and commitment. That’s all. And if you don’t ask for that at this level, I think I pack my bags and I go somewhere else because that’s the minimum you can ask for.
“I am sorry but I am going to expect that (respect and commitment) from everybody who works for the club. First of all myself. And the day I don’t do that, I walk through that door and go and do something else. It is as clear as that.
“To be successful you have to be passionate about something and you want to represent a club of this size with its history, that is the minimum standard you have to bring.
“I am not going to ask anybody to put the ball into the top corner every time they hit it, but I will ask them to do the right things every single day for this club. That is for sure.”

TBR View:
It’s clear as day that something Aubameyang has done at Arsenal has really irked Arteta.
The Arsenal boss has been consistent with his demands from day one and he has already shown what happens to players who don’t listen to him – just ask Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi.
Aubameyang, if reports are to be believed, has crossed the line a few times and Arteta has been lenient. The Spaniard punished him for turning up late to the North London derby last year, but that was resolved fairly quickly too.
However, it looks like what Aubameyang did now was one step too far and that may just cost him his Arsenal career.
