Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Mikel Arteta for turning things around at Arsenal.
The Gunners boss was under immense pressure after the first three games of the season. Arsenal had lost all three fixtures and were at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Some fans and pundits wanted Arteta gone, but Arsenal stuck by the Spaniard, and that is now paying off. The Gunners are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions and a win tomorrow will push them above Liverpool into the top four.
Klopp was asked about Arteta and the German admitted that he has been ‘really impressed’.
Jurgen Klopp: Mikel Arteta is doing an incredible job at Arsenal
The Liverpool boss told Sky Sports ahead of the game tomorrow: “I think Mikel got a lot of criticism. Not qualifying for international football (last season) – that happens in football, even when you do a good job.
“You have to then use the time and that’s what they obviously do. They have more time to train, more time to recover, that makes a massive difference. And, having the quality of Arsenal obviously makes a difference.
“They have a really good team and Mikel is doing an incredible job there, to be honest. As a very young coach, in the first proper job as a manager, going already through this hot water, he’s doing incredibly well and I’m really impressed.”

After finishing eighth in the Premier League last season and starting this campaign the way that they did, questions were asked of Arteta. The Gunners boss didn’t really have a leg to stand on at that point, but Arsenal kept their faith in him.
The Spaniard has now repaid that really well. Arsenal are on a tremendous unbeaten run and qualifying for the Champions League next season looks like a very real possibility at the moment.
Arteta deserves a ton of credit for turning things around and it is no surprise that Klopp is impressed. The game tomorrow, however, will be a big test, and it will be interesting to see how Arsenal will fare against one of the best sides in the world.
