Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after Crystal Palace hammered Tottenham 3-0 at Selhurst Park earlier today.
What’s the story?
Well, it was quite an afternoon for the south Londoners, and it seems Liverpool supporters are a little bit jealous.
A handful of fans on Twitter bemoaned the fact that Patrick Vieira was able to bring both Odsonne Edouard and Michael Olise on from his bench, options they feel would be welcome at Anfield.
The Eagles signed Edouard from Celtic for £14m, and he scored twice on his Premier League debut despite only coming on in the 84th minute.
In Olise’s case, he was bought from Reading for £8m, and contributed to Edouard’s second goal in the 92nd minute after coming on for his own debut.
In our view, the Liverpool fans below are spot on. Both Edouard and Olise would definitely be good options for Jürgen Klopp to have on the bench.
Why didn’t Liverpool sign Odsonne Edouard?

We’ll ignore Olise for now, as you can understand why Liverpool wouldn’t want to pick up an untested 19-year-old from the Championship.
However, we’re not quite sure why Klopp didn’t take a punt on Edouard, who seems like an ideal player for the German’s system.
The Frenchman didn’t cost too much at £14m, and always looks lively inside the box – he plays the game on his toes at all times.

You may argue about the quality of Scottish football, and use it as a reason to explain why Liverpool didn’t sign Edouard.
However, Virgil van Dijk came from Scotland, and look at where he is now.
Let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about Crystal Palace’s options…
