TalkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara has backed Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur to make the top four this season, but feels Chelsea and Newcastle United could miss out.
Eddie Howe’s side have emerged as an early surprise contender for a finish in the top four. It’s still very early days but the Magpies have now beaten Spurs and earned a point at Old Trafford over the past week.
City and Arsenal look like the sides to beat at this moment in time, while Spurs have just suffered consecutive defeats, after a positive start to the season.
Chelsea have started to pick up positive results after the arrival of Graham Potter and just seven points separate them and Arsenal at the top of the table.
It looks set to be an intriguing battle for the top four places this season and O’Hara thinks the Blues and Howe’s men will fall short.

O’Hara predicts Premier League top four
Speaking on TalkSPORT today, O’Hara was asked by presenter Laura Woods who he is backing for a top four finish.
The former Spurs midfielder seems confident that both City and Arsenal will qualify for the Champions League.
But he’s unconvinced by Chelsea, despite their resurgence under Potter.
After Ally McCoist suggested the Blues as a possible top four contender, O’Hara responded: “No. I’m not convinced with Chelsea.
“They were bang average the other day [vs Manchester United]. That’s all I’m giving you [laughs].”
Woods then asked: “Are Spurs going to finish in the top four?”
“Yes. I don’t know how,” O’Hara said.
“Watching that over the last few weeks, I don’t know how. But I’m sticking with it.”
The TalkSPORT pundit was then asked about Newcastle’s chances of fighting for a top four finish.
“Newcastle are a massive problem for the big six now because they have got a decent side, a really good manager,” he said.
“I’m not answering this question! You [Laura Woods] always put me on my toes all of the time. Alright, Newcastle are not going to get into the top four.”

It’s a difficult race to call at this moment in time, with Spurs currently out of sorts and Newcastle looking strong under Howe.
Chelsea have certainly improved under Potter but their draw with Manchester United shows he still has plenty of work to do at Stamford Bridge.
City and Arsenal look like the two strongest sides in the league at the moment, but it’s still early days.
Liverpool are bound to find their rhythm once again and Erik Ten Hag’s United side look to be getting better every week.
It will be an intriguing battle for the top places in the Premier League and with a World Cup in the middle of the season, it’s looking very open at the moment.
