Talented goalkeeper Nathan Trott has admitted he could yet leave West Ham United on loan before the end of the transfer window.

In an interview with the club’s official website, Trott said that he is enjoying being with the first team squad in pre-season.

But he also admitted that he could yet be playing for another club on a temporary basis by the time the serious action kicks off.

He spent last season in France with Ligue 2 outfit AS Nancy, and has also spent time with AFC Wimbledon during the 2019/20 campaign.

Trott could leave West Ham on loan

He said: “Last season was a great experience for me getting more games in. Now it’s given me a big boost of energy being back here with everyone.

“This is where I want to be at the end of the day so for the time that I’m here for the moment, whether I’m here or I go on loan again, I’m going to work hard in the games and grasp the opportunities I’ve been given and show the manager what I can do.

“We’ve got quite a few games this pre-season so it’s important that we get back to the training ground and continue to work hard and hopefully get more results leading up to the season.”

Trott has made 45-minute appearances in goal in the pre-season matches at Servette and Boreham Wood for West Ham this summer.

He recently penned a new contract at the club, but is fourth choice at present behind Łukasz Fabiański, Alphonse Areola and Darren Randolph.

Fabianski and Randolph are in the twilight of their careers, so perhaps after a loan spell this year, a spot as the number two goalkeeper will open up next term.

Trott’s ability has been described as ‘superb‘ during his time in the academy and a third loan spell could be what he needs as a next step to keep bringing it out.
