'I'm gonna cry': Some Liverpool fans react to footage of Wijnaldum and Mbappe at PSG
Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after watching footage of Gini Wijnaldum meeting Kylian Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain.
What’s the story?
Well, as you’ll know, Wijnaldum joined Mauricio Pochettino in Paris after his contract at Liverpool expired.
Strangely, the Dutchman said that Liverpool staff members – presumably including Jürgen Klopp – and his fellow teammates wanted him to stay.
Wijnaldum also admitted that he wanted to stay on Merseyside, which leads us to believe FSG had something to do with his exit – that is, however, purely speculative.
Nevertheless, it seems as if the Liverpool fans on Twitter are still hurting from his departure after seeing the footage of him and Mbappe.
Putting Wijnaldum aside for a second, and there seems to be a tinge of jealousy from some Liverpool fans below.
Why? Well, some sources – most recently MARCA – believe Mbappe is a target for Liverpool.
As a result, one fan below said that the interaction between Wijnaldum and the Frenchman should’ve been taking place on Merseyside, not Paris.
It must hurt the Anfield faithful. However, some good might come out of it.
Mbappe only has a year left on his contract at the Parc des Princes, and some have said previously that he wants to join Liverpool.
In that respect, he now has someone to talk to about all things Liverpool.
Seeing as Wijnaldum wanted to stay, we presume he’d only speak positively about the Reds.
For now, let’s see what the Liverpool fans on Twitter have been saying about the footage of Mbappe and Wijnaldum…
