Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has claimed on Liverpool’s official website that he is starting to feel faster after a full pre-season.
Feeling faster
Oxlade-Chamberlain has struggled badly with injury at Anfield, but he has remained off the treatment table all summer this time around.
The £35 million England international (Sky) actually started in Liverpool’s first game of the season, after catching the eye in friendly matches.
And Oxlade-Chamberlain admits that he is feeling better than ever right now, with the 28-year-old of the belief that his pace has increased.
“I feel like I’m at a place where I’m feeling sharper, quicker, fitter, stronger,” he said.
“I feel like it’s just a chance for me to kick on and put down a really good season of consistent performances and hopefully some good numbers as well in terms of goals, assists. But I guess that’s all to come.”
Boost for Liverpool

Oxlade-Chamberlain becoming a genuine option to start for Liverpool again is certainly a boost for Jurgen Klopp.
There has been little doubting his quality, but his inability to stay fit has become a frustration.
With time running out on his contract, this season is certainly huge for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
If he can have a big impact, he may just earn himself a new deal at Anfield, but if he suffers with another injury his future will surely come into question.
Liverpool are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Leeds United at Elland Road.
