'I'm excited watching them': Jamie Carragher shares who he's been more impressed by this season - Arsenal or Tottenham
Jamie Carragher has been speaking on the latest Overlap Fan Debate and has shared who he’s been more impressed by this season – Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur.
Both North London clubs have got off to a brilliant start to the current campaign.
Arsenal suffered their first defeat of the season against Manchester United on Sunday but still sit top of the Premier League on 15 points.
Spurs remain unbeaten after beating Fulham on Saturday and sit just one point behind their rivals.
And Carragher has now revealed that he has been more impressed by Mikel Arteta’s men so far this season.
Carragher more impressed by Arsenal
Speaking on the Overlap Fan Debate, Carragher says Arsenal are closer to Manchester City in terms of playing style at this moment in time.
“I’ve been really impressed with them [Arsenal], I just don’t know if they have got the squad.
“When I actually watch Tottenham or Manchester United this season – they are getting the results the same sort of way. Big, strong, powerful, tough to beat.
“But when I watch Arsenal, it’s fast, energetic and I’m excited watching them. But could what happened yesterday happen too often?
“But the more impressive team, when we talk about how the game is played like right now, as a technical game, and what Liverpool and Man City have done over the last four or five years, Arsenal are closer to that than say Tottenham or United.”
Spurs have not put in dazzling performances so far but are certainly proving to be a tough side to beat.
Arsenal have impressed with their free-flowing style of play but did come undone against a counter-attacking side in Manchester United on Sunday.
The North London clubs both look in great shape for the current campaign though and it will be an intriguing battle between them for local bragging rights.
