Newcastle United star Isaac Hayden believes that the raw ability Allan Saint-Maximin possesses is better than what he saw in Arsenal fan-favourite Santi Cazorla.

Hayden trained with the Spaniard when he was at Arsenal all those years ago. Cazorla’s technical ability is up there with the very best players we’ve seen in the Premier League and the Newcastle midfielder did not dispute that.

However, he is adamant that in terms of raw ability, Saint-Maximin is better than every other player in the Premier League, including Cazorla, who left Arsenal in the summer of 2018.

Here’s what the Newcastle United midfielder said on The Beautiful Game Podcast today…

DROGBA DID WORSE THAN LUKAKU

Isaac Hayden: The raw ability Saint-Maximin possesses is better than every other PL player

Hayden said: He’s (Saint-Maximin) a great character, he’s a good kid, a little bit misunderstood by some.

“Talent-wise, natural ability, him and Santi Cazorla are the best two players I’ve played with. Technically, he (Santi) was the best player I’ve played with. But, in terms of raw ability, Allan, honestly, I’ve never seen anything like it before.

“I’m being deadly serious, there’s not one player in the Premier League who has got the raw ability he has. It’s outrageous, it’s frightening.”

TBR View:

Technically, Cazorla’s quality is arguably the best we’ve seen in the Premier League over the last decade. His quality on the ball, dribbling and ability to use both feet effortlessly made him a joy to watch.

In terms of technical ability, Saint-Maximin may not be there just yet, but he’s a problem to every defender in the country.

He is rapid, his dribbling and close control is arguably among the best in the world, and no defender really knows what he’s going to do next. That unpredictability makes him an extremely difficult player to play against, and the fact that he is just 24 means that he will only get better, which is scary for the other sides in the league.
