'I'm better': £30m Arsenal player says he's improved so much as an attacker since Mikel Arteta took charge
The £30 million man bagged a crucial brace for the Gunners on Saturday night to move them five points clear at the top of the table.
Odegaard has started to add more goals to his game this season and has already bagged six in the Premier League.
That’s just one less than he managed in 36 appearances during the last campaign and the Norwegian says his movement has improved massively this season.
Odegaard says he’s improved as an attacker
Speaking to the Evening Standard, Odegaard says he’s improved the timing of his runs into the penalty area.
“I think I’m better at coming into those areas now – I attack the box more,” he said.
“They may not be the most beautiful goals but I’m in the right places and that helps a lot. I’m always happy to help the team with goals.
“It’s a good way to go into the break. We said before the game that we wanted to finish strong and we wanted to bring this good feeling into the break and we did that. We have to come back even stronger and better but at the moment, it’s looking good.”
Both of Odegaard’s goals on Saturday night were down to him timing his run into the Wolves box to perfection.
The Norwegian playmaker has clearly worked on this area of his game and it’s certainly paying off for him and Arsenal right now.
Arteta has improved many of the young players at Arsenal during his time at the club, particularly the attacking players.
Odegaard has developed into a leader under the Spaniard and is now a hugely important player for the Gunners.
Arteta will be hoping his captain can continue his brilliant goalscoring form when the squad returns to action after the World Cup.
