'I'm a huge fan': Jurgen Klinsmann blown away by attacking ace linked with Spurs, he's the full package
Spurs icon Jurgen Klinsmann has raved about England star Raheem Sterling amid links with Tottenham.
Tottenham have been linked with the Manchester City and Three Lions attacker in recent weeks.
The Telegraph reported earlier in June that City could potentially look to use Sterling as a makeweight to sign Spurs talisman Harry Kane.
Obviously, neither Sterling nor Kane will be thinking about transfer speculation at this moment in time.
While clubs are taking care of close-season and transfer business, many of the Premier League’s top players are on international duty.
And Sterling and Kane both scored for England as they overcame Germany 2-0 in the Euro 2020 last 16.
Sterling opened the scoring on 75 minutes, steering in Luke Shaw’s cross.
And Kane headed home from Jack Grealish’s deliver 86 minutes in to seal a first major tournament win over Germany since 1966.
“I’m a huge fan of Raheem Sterling,” Klinsmann said on BBC One (29/6/21, 7:27pm).
“He takes people on, he’s courageous and he helps out defensively too.
“He’s very disciplined in his game, he’s very mature for his game.”
Sterling shines for City and England
Sterling has now scored 15 goals in his last 20 appearances in all competitions for England.
He is also only the second player to score each of England’s first three goals in a major tournament after Gary Lineker at the 1986 World Cup.
Sterling joined City from Liverpool in 2015 for a reported £57.3million.
He has made 292 competitive appearances for the Etihad side, clocking up 87 goals and 35 assists.
Sterling has won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, five League Cups and two Community Shields.
