Kai Havertz has been much improved for Arsenal in recent weeks, but it’s fair to say he hasn’t won everyone round at the Emirates just yet.
Indeed, the German is still by-and-large regarded as one of the Gunners’ worst performers this season, and he still has plenty to prove.
While many aren’t fans of Havertz, one man who is a huge supporter of the £65m man is Pat Nevin.
Speaking on Off The Ball, Nevin stated that he’s a fanatic for Havertz, even though nobody else seems to rate him, claiming that he thinks he’s a brilliant player who will bring a lot to this Arsenal team when they figure out how to get the best out of him.

Nevin a huge fan of Kai Havertz
The pundit spoke highly of the Arsenal player.
“I’m excited by, we all have players we rate that nobody else does, and I’m a fanatic for Havertz, I think he’s a brilliant player, when they get the best out of him, he’s a player who can make a big big difference, there are a number of positions you can play him in, hopefully none of them are centre-forward, he has the intelligence to understand and work with that team,” Nevin said.
What is he seeing?
As much as we’d love to agree with Nevin that Havertz will be fantastic for Arsenal, we just can’t understand this point of view.
Havertz has been in England for a long time now, and he’s not shown many of the things that Nevin talks about here.
Yes, he’s versatile, but he doesn’t particularly perform well in any of the positions he plays, and while you can say he’s intelligent, if he’s not on the same wavelength as his teammates, these ‘smart’ movements are useless.
Havertz is always going to be a player who splits opinion, and Nevin is clearly on the side of being a big fan.
