Illan Meslier pays tribute to Spurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris after Leeds win
Illan Meslier has paid tribute to Hugo Lloris on Instagram as he posted a picture from after the full-time whistle in Leeds United’s win on Saturday showing him alongside the Spurs goalkeeper.
Lloris was arguably Tottenham’s best player on a difficult day at Elland Road. The Frenchman made a number of outstanding saves to prevent Leeds from winning by a greater margin.
The Whites were superb against Ryan Mason’s side. And Lloris was left with little chance for the three goals that Marcelo Bielsa’s men did score.
Of course, there would likely have been at least one Leeds player not at all surprised to see Lloris come to Spurs’ rescue on several occasions.
Meslier will be hoping to emulate the 34-year-old in the coming years. The Leeds goalkeeper will be hoping to make his debut for France’s under-21 in the very neat future.
Meslier has made an incredible start to life in the Premier League with the Whites. And he did his best to show that he could follow in Lloris’s footsteps one day. He made a number of fantastic stops of his own.
The pair seemed to enjoy a conversation after the full-time whistle. And it would appear that Meslier was delighted to have that moment with Lloris as he paid tribute to the Spurs man on social media.
