'There could be a bit of drama': Merson predicts whether Arsenal will beat Spurs to top-four finish

Tottenham are on the verge of securing a Premier League top-four place ahead of Arsenal.

And Paul Merson, writing on Sportskeeda, has tipped Spurs to get the job done ahead of the Gunners on Sunday.

Tottenham were struggling at the start of the season, getting poor results and playing uninspiring football.

This prompted Daniel Levy to sack the newly-appointed Nuno Espirito Santo and bring Antonio Conte in.

The Italian has improved Spurs massively and, with just one game to go, they are favourites for a top-four finish.

Spurs head to the already-relegated Canaries two points clear of Mikel Arteta’s side.

The Gunners are the only remaining challengers for Champions League qualification.

Tottenham have a much better goal difference than Arsenal, so a point should be enough to seal fourth place.

“There could be a bit of drama”

Merson reckons Norwich will give Spurs a hard game, but tipped the visitors to win 2-1 at Carrow Road.

The Arsenal legend believes the Gunners will hammer Everton 3-0 in their season finale. However, that won’t be enough if Spurs win their game.

“It’s probably a strange thing to say because Norwich are rock bottom and were the first team to suffer relegation,” began Merson.

“But they always have their moments in football matches.

“They were battered 3-0 by Leicester last time out. But they had a lot of good chances to score in the first half.

“If they can put away some of the chances they create, there could be a bit of drama. But the way they approach games could play into Tottenham’s hands.

“I’ll only say one thing. If Spurs can’t beat Norwich City on the last day of the season with a place in the Premier League top four at stake, what’s the point of them being in the UEFA Champions League in the first place?”
